When Good Intentions Aren't Enough
From Metro Networks...
A man accused of stealing an engagement ring and two wedding bands from a Charlottesville, Virginia, jewelry store Valentine's Day weekend will get a reduced penalty after pleading guilty to the charges. Twenty-year-old Raymond Carter says he stole the engagement ring so he could propose to his girlfriend. The girlfriend, Rachel Turner, accepted the marriage proposal, but an employee at the store recognized the stolen rings when Turner brought them back to be resized. That led to charges against Carter, whose guilty plea resulted in a 90-day jail sentence plus court costs and restitution to the store.
"Hey nice ring."; "Thanks, I just picked it up at the store."
Seriously, what a predicament for Ms. Turner. She knows her boyfriend is ready for commitment, but that whole stealing thing has got to give her pause. What will she do...what..will..she..do?
