Thank you Cliff May!

I have had the opportunity when I was a wet behind the ears radio board op to work with Cliff May. I remeber him leaving our station in Denver for bigger and better things. I know how sensible the man is and I can always count on him to bring a sense of calm and logic to any out of control subject.

His piece on Joe Wilson's Wife in the National Review, is just his latest example.

It's the top story in the Washington Post this morning as well as in many other media outlets. Who leaked the fact that the wife of Joseph C. Wilson IV worked for the CIA?

What also might be worth asking: "Who didn't know?"

I believe I was the first to publicly question the credibility of Mr. Wilson, a retired diplomat sent to Niger to look into reports that Saddam Hussein had attempted to purchase yellowcake uranium for his nuclear-weapons program.

If Cliff new who Wilson's wife was, believe me, lots of people new.

I denied I was hired by the First Lady. And her husband the 42nd President said the possession of the illegally obtained files was a simple "bureaucratic snafu".

FBI to Hatfill...Our bad

Dr. Steven Hatfill should not be labeled a person of interest in the 2001 anthrax attacks. That's according to the new chief of the Washington FBI Field Office. Michael Mason says Attorney General John Ashcroft made the designation in response to leaks in the investigation of the case. Mason says the term person of interest is too vague in this case and should be used only when people are formal suspects or when there's enough evidence to charge them with a crime. Hatfill has never been charged in the case. The anthrax attacks through the mail began two years ago this week and claimed five lives.

Now I don't know if he did it or not, but lets STOP LETTING THE PRESS DICTATE INVESTIGATIONS.

Look, I'm a reporter. I cover press conferences and ask questions. If you don't have the goods on someone don't release their name.

I've got some FREE ADVICE for police departments. If you withhold information until you have a case, then arrest and convict someone, YOU LOOK EFFECTIVE.

If you throw out names for the press to eat up and you get it wrong......Well ask the FBI about this whole Anthrax deal.

Twin 14-year-old girls have been sentenced by a Moroccan court to five years in prison for planning a suicide bombing of a supermarket. Another teenage girl was acquitted of the charges. The twins, Iman and Sanaa Laghrisse, are the youngest suspects charged in a series of trials in the wake of the May bombings in Casablanca that killed 45 people. The arrest of girls so young and prepared to die for the cause of Islamic extremism shocked many.

At least they were caught before they had an opportunity to kill people who were offending Islam BY SHOPPING.

Another reason why these girls need schools.

What is this world coming to. This lady needs some real jail time, but it doesn't look like its gonna happen.

A Manhattan woman who sent her 12-year-old son to stage a bank robbery is expected to get minimal jail time under a plea agreement. A bank teller who was in on the job will serve no jail time. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly calls the plea deal "absurd." Prosecutors told the New York "Daily News" that the women involved were not charged with robbery because the heist was an inside job. Instead, they were charged with misdemeanor child endangerment and felony grand larceny, which can mean up to seven years in prison if convicted at trial. The bank teller, who lives with the boy's grandmother, handed the 12-year-old $30 thousand when he passed her a note on August 28th. Kelly says, in his opinion, it was abuse of the child.

When did sending a kid to rob a bank become a simple misdemeanor? Should I be worried or mad about this? I am.

Here's something I'm glad to hear

The government served notice Tuesday it is cracking down on illegal shipments of hazardous cargo that officials say could lead to accidents or be used by terrorists to mount attacks. As part of new joint initiative by the departments of Justice and Transportation, Attorney General John Ashchroft announced that Emery Worldwide Airlines Inc. -- now part of CNF Inc. -- pleaded guilty to 12 counts of violating hazardous material shipping laws and agreed to pay a $6 million fine. More than 1.5 billion tons of hazardous cargo are shipped nationwide each year by air, rail, sea and land. These include flammable liquids, pressurized gases, explosives, poisons and radioactive material.

It's about time.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about this, but it seems a long time coming. I mean, how many news organizations have to send stuff around and do reports before the Government CRACKS DOWN. I have to believe the last straw was the guy SENDING HIMSELF.

Remember, of course the Value Jet that crashed into the Florida Everglades years ago, crashed because of faulty oxgen tanks.

Now what do the cops do?

I wonder what the result will be from this.

Police in Glendale, Colorado will brief reporters Tuesday afternoon on the apparent death of a 37-year-old man with a Taser gun. The incident happened Monday around 4:30 p.m. at the Cedar Pointe Condominiums in Glendale. Police responded to a 911 call from a woman saying a man was acting violently.

When they arrived they found the man out of control and uncooperative.

The unidentified man reportedly refused to allow paramedics to treat him. He ignored police orders to stop resisting. After repeated attempts, officers say they resorted to an M-26 Taser weapon to subdue him.

He was hospitalized and died.

Alright, what do cops do now when confronted with someone out of control. Denver area cops are running out of choices. Guns will kill people. Choke holds kill people. Pepper spray kills people. And now Tasers kill people.

What now? I know for a fact that whenever I come into contact with police I will not be harmed. Why? Because I don't become Uncooperative With Cops. And I try not to put myself in postiions where police Think of me as a Threat.

I know the drill. I'm a white male who never gets hassled. Wrong! Whites get killed by cops too. Whites scare police too. I have been pulled over for no reason to be investigated. I have been stopped for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This ISN'T the issue. The issue is, ONCE PUT IN THAT SITUATION WHAT ARE COPS TO DO?

I think it's time we give police a little credit for going out and DOING THE HARDEST JOB A PERSON HAS.

Earth to Boulder, Come in Boulder

Every once in awhile, I like to see what's going on in the town of my birth, the "People's Republic of Boulder". It never ceases to amaze my what comes out of the "forty square miles surronded by reality".

This is no exception

Five hundred people are coming into town this week to save the world.

More specifically, the world's poor and the world's environment.

Organizers behind the "Sustainable Resources 2003: Solutions to World Poverty" conference being held this week on the University of Colorado campus say the two goals go hand in hand.

These 500 people REALLY believe they will be able to save the poor, save the enviroment, and save the world.

How? I am a conservationist...I recycle.....I try to not use paper....I don't get a morning paper.

But the problem is, all those things I do to save the planet, work AGAINST improving the lives of the poor.

How? Recycling may make a sustainable environment, but it also shrinks the numbers of people needed in the job market. When the job market shrinks, the number of people not needed to work shrinks, and the number of poor increases.

There are really only two ways to have a sustained environment as well as a shrinkage of poor (well three if you count the mass killing of the poor which no one really supports I HOPE)

One is communism, but we KNOW from history it doesn't work

The other is to get corporations to see how conservation can HELP THEM. Not force them into it.

If corporations can see the advantages, besides "it helps the earth", they tend to adopt the environmentally friendly policies.

Take Honda for instance, they DIDN'T just cave to enviros, they found a way to make an affordable enviromentally friendly car that can keep up with regular cars.

The Prius was a moderate success.

Unfortunately, most enviros are NOT working for ways to HELP corporations to create enviromentally friendly products. They are down throwing rocks at WTO meetings or setting fire to car dealerships.

More enviros need to make conservation easy, inexpensive, and AN IMPROVEMENT. Eco-tourism, NOT Eco-terrorism, is a good start. The Prius is another. Once enviros LEARN to create products that are better than what we have, cheaper than what we have, and MORE ENVIROMENTALLY FRIENDLY, consumers and corporations will embrace them.

More people will have jobs, and the enviroment will become sustainable.

But 500 enviros will be in Boulder discussing this instead of learning how to make a better, cheaper, enviromentally friendly mousetrap.

I am honored to report that I'm no longer doing news reports for IE America featured prominantly on a website you should read everyday Eye of the Left.

The radio network sponsored by the United Auto Workers had used my network for their top of the hour news.

I was the evening Anchor. But I have been mercifully relieved of that burden.

As of today there have been 2013 people who've become sick due to the West Nile Virus. THIRTEEN over our goal.

Good Job everyone.

We are still a little short of our fatality goal. We did move up two to 42, eight short of our goal of 50.

Colorado Department of Health, does expect reports of illness through October, so we still have a chance.

Thanks again to all the animal rights people who insisted we shouldn't be spraying for mosquitos, giving us totals that far exceed any other state in the Union. WAY TO GO PEOPLE!
