One of Mexico's only three female giant pandas is Tokyo-bound for what zoo keepers are hoping will be a love connection. Sixteen-year-old Shuan Shuan was selected to mate with a Japanese panda stud named Ling Ling. The older male panda has been to Mexico City three times but attempts at reproduction and artificial insemination were unsuccessful. If things work out better on his home turf, Shuan Shuan will remain in Tokyo for the duration of her pregnancy, anywhere from three to five months. After that, mother and baby will be returned to Mexico City.
I hope it works, but I have a question. Why are all Pandas named twice. Shaun Shaun? Ling Ling? Are all the panda namers stutterers? Just a question.
