The windows in a large office building in Florida that seemed to develop an image of the Virgin Mary were broken overnight. The image, which was spread across nine huge window panes nearly 60-feet high, was first spotted eight years ago. Since then, the former financial services building had become a destination for pilgrims, tourists, and the curious who came to see the image and judge for themselves. Police in Clearwater are still investigating the incident, but most of the image, including what appeared to be Mary's veiled head, has been destroyed.
No problem here...as long as it's Christians getting bashed. Had this been a Muslim or Jewish pilgrim spot, the protests would have been deafening.
true, but I am also for consistancy. And it's the lack of consistancy that I'm really commenting on.

It should be punished as vandalism and destruction of property, and condemned as such - nothing more.
I'm going to guess that you - being conservative - (and I, as a libertarian-type for that matter) are against labeling actions as "hate crimes." If true, you should be more upset about the protests for Jewish/Muslim/whatever vandalism than for the lack of protests this time around, no?
