What is Going on in Louisiana

Don't they have real problems like the rest of us? First was that law regarding Low Slung pants. Now there's this from Reuters.

A Louisiana state legislator is trying to outlaw a violent spectator sport: fights pitting vicious dogs against wild hogs.

Rep. Warren Triche, a Democrat from Thibodaux, has introduced a bill that would ban the bloodiest forms of "hog-doggin," as the pig-versus-canine duels are known in the rural corners of his state.

Is "hog-doggin" a real problem in Louisiana? Really? I can't imagine the jailtime if someone wore "low slung pants" to a "hog-doggin" event. It would call for immense jail time I'm sure.

Dozens of Michael Jackson fans are descending on the Santa Maria courthouse for the pop singer's court appearance Friday.

Fans are lining a chain-link fence outside the courthouse holding signs supporting the singer and others are holding lottery tickets that could allow them inside the courthouse to view the proceedings.

Paul Sakajian is a 33-year-old fan from Las Vegas. He says the media is to blame for Jackson's legal troubles.

"People sat down and plotted this because if they didn't they wouldn't have a job," Sakajian said.

More than one-thousand fans and at least 130 members of the media are expected at the Santa Maria courthouse for Jackson's arraignment in his child molestation case.

These are the type of folks who would love to bring their kids over to Michael's to "play".

By the way, "Sakajian".....isn't that the guy on those dollar coins? Just askin'.

What the.....?

So yesterday I played gold and now in Denver it's SNOWING. Welcome to "sunny" Colorado. It will probably be 80 degrees tomorrow. Maybe I should go skiing.

And for all of you New Yorkers, Californians, Texans, et al. thinking about moving here. All it does here is snow...everyday....all day....I swear.....yeah......that's it..

Take it from me - a 6th generation native -- I frequently find myself trudging through waist-high snow to buy fireworks on the Fourth of July!!! If you are thinking of relocating to Colorado, either bring some sled dogs or re-think Tucson -- I hear it's very temperate there, year-round

British rock star Elton John, a guest judge this month on the U.S. talent hunt TV series "American Idol," said on Tuesday that he found the voting by the national viewing audience "incredibly racist."

I don't think so, but it just adds another item to what Americans must be...

A '20/20' segment set to air on Friday during which five couples compete to adopt a child from a pregnant 16-year-old girl is causing quit a stir.

Callers to some radio shows today were agitated by the premise of the ABC-TV show during which the couples get less than a half hour to convince the 8 1/2 month pregnant sophomore, Jessica, that they would be the best parents for her son.

This is so tacky and disgusting. The first thing that came to my mind what that some exec got the girl pregnant so the show would fly.

I know it sounds awful, but with all the other sick stuff they come with in television.......

Attention Spiderman: California needs you. The state highway patrol, hoping to avoid another epic traffic jam caused by a suicide jumper on a major bridge, wants inventors to design and build a gun that can capture would-be jumpers in a spider-like web.

"At this point we're about ready to put out a request for a proposal," said California Highway Patrol spokesman Tom Marshall. "And we'll just see if there's some technology that might be usable."

The idea for a suicide spider gun was first floated by a local radio talk-show host following a 13-hour standoff between cops and a blade-wielding man threatening to jump off the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, Marshall said.

After hours in traffic, some motorists were so furious that some yelled out for the man to jump.

It might work, but what if the force of the shot just sends the guy over the bridge? Maybe it would be better served to tie up those morons yeling for the guy to jump. Idiots.

After reading your site I can only say that you seem to support a nation that is rapidly sliding towards facism. The proverb 'power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely' seems to have gone far over your head. I hope that many, many american soldiers will die in Iraq for fighting a war that was based on lies

Nothing warms the cockles of my heart like the hopes of Hans, that my countrymen and women, some I know personally, will be killed.

I could go on saying how the war was based only on the lies of Saddam Hussein and the U.N. I could go on saying that fascists are doing a better job in Europe than here.

But I'm sure he'd just gloss over my FACTS and spout the same old mantra.

People who wear low-slung pants that expose skin or "intimate clothing" would face a fine of up to $500 and possible jail time under a bill filed by a Jefferson Parish lawmaker.

State Rep. Derrick Shepherd said he filed the bill because he was tired of catching glimpses of boxer shorts and G-strings over the lowered belt lines of young adults.

The bill would punish anyone caught wearing low-riding pants with a fine of as much as $500 or as many as six months in jail, or both.

I guess there's not a lot going on in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana these days. I always thought the baggy pants and low slung pants were great for police. No one can run in those things.

I guess B Spears and J Lo won't be coming to the Parish anytime soon. Maybe this law IS a good thing.
