It was an unexpected trip to Philadelphia this past weekend for a Midwest Airlines baggage handler in Milwaukee. The employee was putting a wheelchair into the plane's cargo hold when he got stuck inside. Other workers apparently didn't see him when the door was locked and the flight took off. When the plane arrived the man was a bit stressed but managed to ask for a cigarette. An airline spokesman says they'll review the incident and procedures.
If I was a handler, I wouldn't mind being sent somewhere by accident...until I found out I was headed to Philly. They'd have to buff out my claw marks inside the cargo hold. But I guess Philly is much better than Milwaukee.
