I'm a little shocked at this...
The Colorado Supreme Court on Monday reversed the felony murder conviction and life sentence of Lisl Auman, who was found guilty even though she was in custody when a companion shot and killed a police officer.
The court said the conviction was flawed because the judge's instructions to the jury on a related burglary charge may have been improper. Auman's conviction on the burglary charge allowed the jury to find her guilty of felony murder, which carries a sentence of life without parole.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Why did she deserve a life sentence? Because if it wasn't for her wanting to break in to her ex-boyfriend's house, using a bunch of thugs carrying guns, officer Vanderjagt would probably be alive today. Auman was the one who started this whole mess. She's the one responsible. Just another blow for personal responsibility. This one will go to the U.S. Supreme Court, I think.
She is every bit as accountable as the idiot who pulled the trigger, and while we are re-looking at this, how about adding some attempted murder charges, or reckless endangerment for all of the people who were in the path of the chase they led the police on!
What an absurd decision, I can't decide which decision upsets me more this or the Robert Harlan decision (aren't all jurors decisions products of what they have experienced, including reading the bible).

This is the most mind-blowing court decision in Colorado in my recent memory! I hope too that she is ultimately found guilty again, she is every bit as accountable as the idiot who pulled the trigger

I hope it does go to the Supreme Court and I hope she's found, ultimately, to be guilty. I agree with you completely.
