Library officials in Houston, Texas want new rules against people with offensive body odor. That's one of the changes they're asking city council to make. It would address, quote, "offensive bodily hygiene that constitutes a nuisance to others." Other changes would include a rule against sleeping on tables, bathing in the restroom and looking at obscene material on the Internet. The city council is scheduled to take on the issue tomorrow.
I have to agree with this. We've come too far in the hygene department to accept people who smell bad. I'm sorry, I don't budge on this one...you smell...you leave.
Actually, if you read between the lines, the point of all of those provisions are aimed at getting the bums and tramps out of the library and back under the bridges where they belong. Bums who want to come read are fine. Bums who want to come oogle some porno on the net, go bathe in the bathroom and then take a nap on the table in the children's section are not.
